MANAGER AGRIBUSINESS – DAR ES SALAAM

TPB Bank PLC seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Manager, Agribusiness (1 position) to join the Directorate of Retail Business Banking team.

DIRECT REPORTING LINE: SENIOR MANAGER CREDIT
LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM

POSITION OBJECTIVE 
Manager Agribusiness is responsible for managing all functions relating to Agribusiness. Further, to ensure good customer service, improved performance and profitability as well as effective risk control and management in line with TPB’s lending Policy and procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To ensure efficient operations of the Agri loan products and proper coordination of activities with other departments/related business partners.

  • Appraise Agri -loan products in his/her area of operation/zone and forward to Senior Manager Credit with recommendations 
  • Review credit appraisals from Agri Loan Officers/Loan Officers before forwarding to Head Office. 
  • Monitor and Supervise all Agri-loans issued and disbursed in his/her area of operation/zone to ensure good and quality portfolio. 
  • Training and coaching Agri-Loan Officers/Loan Officers on Agri-loan product appraisals.
  • Ensure weekly/monthly/monthly Agri-loan portfolio report indicating performance and status are prepared and submitted on time. 
  • Assist branches and zones to prepare budget for’ all Agri-loan products in his/her area of operation/zones. 
  • Prepare and review strategies for marketing of Agri-loan products both existing and or be developed from time to time. 
  • Prepare action plan for implementation and achievement of budget objectives for his/her area of operation/zone. 
  • To ensure that branches are complying with the established Agribusiness policies which include applicant’s assessment procedures, credit investigation procedures and a loan monitoring system designed to provide information concerning the performance of the micro-credit portfolio. 
  • To ensure regularization of loan documentation by the branch / sub-branch managers for all Agri loan products prior to disbursement of funds. 
  • To make regular follow up of stuck up Agri loan products and initiate recovery measures in order to regularize them immediately. 
  • To ensure that Agri loan products quality and loss provisioning is maintained at the acceptable limits as prescribed in the TPB Credit Policy. 
  • Any other duties as may be assigned to her/him from time to time by the higher authorities

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

Education 

  • Holder of a first degree in Agribusiness/Economics or its equivalent 
  • Master Degree will be 

Experience 

  • An experience of three years with financial institutions lending to agriculture or with large Agri-companies or NGO’s dealing with agriculture 
  • Conversant with standard computer applications (Excel, Word and Access)

Skills/ A attributes 

  • Good business management, leadership, coaching and team building skills. 
  • Good credit assessment and project appraisal skills 
  • Good communication with high proficiency in the use of (English and Kiswahili) 
  • Good knowledge of banking operations at branch level and core banking system 
  • Good customer relationship and sound understanding of bank’s loan products, policies and procedures. 
  • Market competitive packages, commensurate with the qualifications and experience 
  • Ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision. 
  • Personable and able to relate to people at all levels.

SENIOR MANAGER DATA CENTRE – DAR ES SALAAM

TPB Bank PLC seeks to appoint dedicated, self-motivated and highly organized Senior Manager Data Centre (1 position) to join the Directorate of Technology and Operations team.

DIRECT REPORTING LINE: CHIEF MANAGER INFRASTRUCTURE 

LOCATION: DAR ES SALAAM

DIVISION: INFRASTRUCTURE 

SALARY: Commensurate to the Job Advertised

POSITION OBJECTIVE 

The Position required to interact with Technology and Customers for most part of his/her day. Good Technical, planning and troubleshooting skills are a prerequisite for the job. The job requires understanding of IT infrastructure and IT service in financial sector knowledge in order to provide sound and reliable advice to the organisation. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED 

  • Maintain data centre infrastructure services, including power, cooling and equipment racking configuration and cabling. 
  • Ensure recovery procedures of all technology hardware are operational and routinely validated. 
  • Manage the data centre infrastructure including network, application systems, and security 
  • Ensure smooth operation of the data centre Infrastructure services. 
  • Manage ICT risk in relation to data centre infrastructure and ensure the risk and controls policies and frameworks are implemented in line with the risk appetite of the bank. 
  • Ensure modernization of the infrastructure and possible virtualization of the data centre. 
  • Review and ensure the data centre change management controls are in place. 
  • Review systems related projects before implementation to verify that all necessary standards controls are in place. 
  • Coordinate the efforts of different ICT operational areas to ensure minimal duplication of efforts, maximise efficiency and value for money. 
  • Contribute to the development of business unit strategy by providing views on potential improvements for products or services and assessment of the existing situation and anticipated changes in the external environment. 
  • Pre-plan and prepare for Audits by identifying potential ICT risk areas and processes and participate in risk control assessment development. 
  • Ensure availability of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan. 
  • Monitor compliance to all ICT policies requirements and advise management of any gaps by conducting periodic reviews. 
  • Coordinate the closure of ICT policies and controls gaps identified by audit, self-review, etc. by engaging management to define, agree and monitor progress. 
  • Manage patches for the systems in the data centre infrastructure 
  • Manage third part ICT vendors in relation to data centre support and overall administration. 
  • Provides input for fiscal year capital and operational budgeting of technology related resources 
  • Ensure alignment and support of the bank-wide ICT Strategy and business objectives.

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS

  • Education: Holder of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology from any recognized University or equivalent discipline, ITIL, Price2, ISO270001 Certifications and Virtualization knowledge. 
  • Possession of Masters in Computer Science will be an added advantages

Experience: 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in the Bank Operations 
  • Understanding of Banking Operations. 
  • Working knowledge of Core Banking systems 
  • Networking hardware, software and/or computer applications 
  • Working knowledge in Virtualization and server consolidation 
  • Experience in Business Process Reengineering 

Skills / Attributes: 

  • Strong knowledge in TCP/IP model and Protocol 
  • Excellent skill in Configuration of Routers, Switches and Firewalls 
  • Technical skill in Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting of Servers Hardware and Operating systems software 
  • Banking system 
  • Leadership and Management skills. 
  • Dynamic with ability to work in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment. 
  • Strong writing, communication and presentation skills.
